Empowering Tomorrow's Leaders: The "Back to School Program"

Combat Alcoholism

At Village Development Centre (VDC), we believe that education is a powerful tool for creating brighter futures. In 2019, we launched the "Back to School Program," a transformative initiative that had a profound impact on the lives of 167 school children, including 95 girls, across seven Child Learning Centres (CLCs).

Program Highlights

Academic Progress: Through this program, we enabled children to acquire essential skills in reading, writing, and understanding subjects like English, mathematics, and science. Slow learners received tailored support to boost their reading and writing abilities, and students at risk of dropping out were encouraged to stay in school.

Life Coping Skills

Beyond academics, the program also equipped children with vital life coping skills, helping them navigate the challenges they may face in their daily lives.

Preventing Early Marriage: One of the program's successes was in preventing early marriages among girls, ensuring they had the opportunity to continue their education and build brighter futures.

Parental Support: Motivated parents played a pivotal role in supporting their children's education, underscoring the importance of community involvement in promoting learning.

Sports and Games: Children also had the opportunity to engage in sports and games, fostering physical fitness and a sense of camaraderie among participants.

Addressing Critical Issues

Through the "Back to School Program," VDC addressed a range of critical issues affecting children in our communities: Child Labour: By keeping children in school, we helped combat child labour, offering them an alternative path to a better future. Child Trafficking: Enrolment and active participation in school also serve as a deterrent to child trafficking, protecting children from exploitation. Dropouts: Encouraging students at risk of dropping out to stay in school contributed to higher enrolment rates and reduced dropout rates. Illiteracy: By enhancing literacy skills, we empowered children with the ability to access knowledge and opportunities. Migration: Keeping children in school helps prevent migration, ensuring they can pursue their education within their communities. Child Abuse: Education is a key factor in preventing child abuse and ensuring the well-being of children. Child Rights and Environmental Protection: Through education, children become aware of their rights, environmental issues, and the importance of preserving their surroundings. Support from Give2Asia and Impact Guru: This impactful project received support from Give2Asia and Impact Guru, whose commitment to education and child welfare has made a lasting difference in the lives of these young learners. At VDC, we are dedicated to nurturing the potential of our children and empowering them to become future leaders. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our valued partners for their unwavering support. Stay connected with us to learn more about our ongoing efforts to create lasting change and empower communities
