Child Labour Elimination Programme
VDC has been working with the child labourers since 1995. It is running 4 Child Labour Special Schools (transits school) with 150 child labourers. The child labourers studied 1 or 2 years in the school and then admitted in regular schools. Since 1995 we have enrolled 1600 children in regular schools. We are providing noon-meal, notebooks, nutrition support, health check-up, and skill training for the children.

VDC is also conducting special coaching classes for girl children to complete their 10th standard those who failed in 8th, 9th and 10th standard. One of the schools is residential school with strength of 80 children. During 2009-2010, 150 children are studying in our schools. The schools are located at Sri Rangam, Sirugambur, Mannachanallur and Sengulipatty villages in Tiruchirappally. |
